Propane for households rises 2.5 times: what it means for suppliers
From November 15, a kilogram of liquefied gas for households will cost 5,000 soum instead of 2,000. Needy families get up to 60,000 soum per month in compensation.

From November 15, households in Uzbekistan will pay 5,000 soum per kilogram of liquefied gas (propane) — 2.5 times more than the previous 2,000 soum. The government approved the decision, as reported by Gazeta.uz, Spot.uz, Daryo.uz and Kun.uz. At the same time, compensation was introduced for needy families — up to 60,000 soum per month, covering about 20 kg of gas. In areas without natural gas, the basic electricity norm was raised to 350 kWh. By May 1, 2027, the government will prepare proposals for developing the liquefied gas market and liberalizing prices.
The increase mainly affects household consumers, but the signal matters for the market: the state is moving gradually away from low regulated prices. That means suppliers and gas processors will work in conditions where price increasingly reflects cost, and support for the needy shifts to targeted payments.
What this means for suppliers
Winners will be those who ensure supply, storage and transport of liquefied gas, as well as manufacturers of gas equipment — cylinders, regulators, meters, valves. Higher prices make metering and loss reduction economically sensible: when a kilogram costs 5,000 soum, every leak and every unaccounted cylinder is direct money.
Demand for compensation creates work for organizations that help process payments, maintain registries of needy families and confirm consumption volumes. Skills in consulting, IT and data work will be useful here.
Tenders are likely in several areas: procurement of gas equipment and cylinders, delivery and storage services, information systems for compensation accounting, and consulting services for gas market development by 2027. Sources do not name exact dates or procurement volumes — this is a forecast, not a fact. Prepare in advance: the earlier you gather documents and calculate the economics, the smoother you enter procedures.
According to TenderLabs data as of November 3, 2026, 875 lots are open in the Energy sector — this area is directly linked to the gas market and equipment procurement.
What to do now
- 1Check whether your product or service fits the gas sector: cylinders, valves, meters, delivery, storage, IT accounting. If yes, update your commercial offer to reflect the new gas price.
- 2Get your digital signature (EDS) and founding documents in order: without a valid EDS you cannot participate in electronic procurement, and re-issuance takes time.
- 3Recalculate project economics under the new prices — old calculations with 2,000 soum per kilogram no longer work.
- 4Collect proven experience: contracts, acts, references for gas and equipment supplies. Customers look at real projects.
- 5Monitor procurement announcements in energy and utilities and prepare your document package in advance to meet submission deadlines.
