Tashkent to Build 17.9 km of BRT Lanes: What It Means for Suppliers
Tashkent will add 17.9 km of dedicated bus lanes on four streets. Here's which tenders may open and how to get ready.

What happened
Tashkent will build 17.9 km of dedicated bus lanes (BRT). Spot.uz reported the plan on November 2, citing city officials. The lanes will run along Mukimi Street, Karatash–Kukcha Darvoza, Parkent Street, and Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue. Kun.uz confirmed the same figures and the same street list that day.
This is part of a broader public transport program in the capital, not a one-off project. Dedicated lanes need more than asphalt and paint. They require bus stops, lighting, signs, control systems, and supporting infrastructure. That is where tenders usually appear.
What it means for suppliers
Construction contractors stand to benefit first. Expect lots for road reconstruction, paving, lane marking, and curb installation. Equipment and machinery come next: bus stop structures, traffic lights, road signs, and lighting poles. A separate block covers IT and control systems: sensors, cameras, and software to monitor the lanes. Don't overlook cleaning and security for construction sites, or transport and logistics for materials.
When will tenders come out? The reports give no exact dates. In practice, tenders usually appear within a few months of a project announcement, as design documents are finalized. Watch lots in the Construction, Equipment and Machinery, IT, and Energy sections.
As of November 2, 2026, TenderLabs data shows 2,372 open lots in Construction — the largest pool of any sector. Equipment and Machinery has 820 lots, IT has 1,093, and Energy has 866. Competition will be real, but there is plenty to bid on.
What to do now
- 1Check that your digital signature (EDS) is valid and that you have access to tender platforms. Without them you can't submit a bid when a lot appears.
- 2Build a portfolio of similar projects: road works, bus stops, lighting. Buyers look at experience.
- 3Set up TenderLabs alerts for keywords: "BRT," "dedicated lane," "Mukimi," "Parkent," "Mirzo Ulugbek," "bus stop."
- 4Prepare standard documents in advance: charter, certificates, licenses, material certificates. This speeds up submission.
- 5Assess your capacity. If you lack equipment or staff, consider partnering with subcontractors before the tender is announced.
The project is large and touches several industries at once. The earlier you start monitoring, the better your chance of being among the first bidders. TenderLabs can help you track the right lots as they appear.
