On November 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the launch of 55 projects and the start of construction on 90 more in Bukhara region. The total value of the 145 projects is $7.8 billion, according to Gazeta.uz, Spot.uz, Daryo.uz and Kun.uz. The projects cover petrochemicals, textiles, energy, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and services. Some facilities are already under construction: in Bukhara, a congress hall and two hotels (Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn) with 424 rooms are being built at a total cost of $136.6 million (Kun.uz). Separately, a 50-hectare tourism center worth $105 million is planned, featuring a reception house, retail and service facilities, a museum, hotels, an amphitheater, craft centers and an artificial lake (Gazeta.uz). Two new textile clusters and power plants will also appear in the region (Spot.uz).

What this means for suppliers

Launching this many projects means customers—developers, hotel operators, industrial enterprises—will buy materials, equipment and services. Demand will stretch over months and years: construction and outfitting happen in stages. The earliest needs are usually construction materials, machinery, furniture and equipment for hotels, cleaning and security, food and catering for staff and tourists. Textile clusters and power plants will generate purchases of equipment, special machinery, energy and logistics. The tourism center will need furniture, outfitting, IT, marketing and events.

According to TenderLabs data as of November 3, 2026, the Construction sector has 2,411 open lots—the largest pool among all sectors. Equipment and machinery has 871 lots, Energy 853, IT 1,151, and Furniture and outfitting 293. These figures show where most open tenders are now, but they do not guarantee that all relate to the Bukhara projects.

Who can win. Suppliers of construction materials and special machinery, manufacturers of furniture and hotel outfitting, cleaning and security contractors, event and catering companies, IT integrators for new facilities. Small businesses should look at local purchases: site maintenance, food, transport, minor repairs.

When to expect tenders. Customers have not announced exact dates. But since construction has started, purchases will appear as facilities become ready—first for construction materials and works, then for outfitting and services. Watch announcements from customers and hotel operators.

What to do now

  1. 1Check which of the 145 projects and facilities in Bukhara match your profile, and list potential customers—developers, hotel operators, industrial enterprises.
  2. 2Prepare your bidding documents: founding documents, licenses and product certificates, proof of experience. Get an electronic digital signature in advance if you don't have one.
  3. 3Work out logistics to Bukhara: delivery times, warehousing, transport. For hotel and tourism facilities, timing and completeness matter.
  4. 4Set up monitoring of tenders in the relevant sectors—construction, equipment, energy, IT, furniture—and for Bukhara region.
  5. 5Prepare a short commercial proposal for each type of facility: hotel, congress hall, textile cluster, power plant. It's easier for a customer to choose a supplier who already understands their task.
