On October 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Todd Boehly, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Eldridge Industries. The meeting was reported by Spot.uz and UzA. According to Spot.uz, the parties agreed to adopt a joint roadmap to develop cooperation. UzA writes that the meeting discussed prospects for cooperation. Daryo.uz specifies the areas: mining and metallurgy, plus the introduction of digital solutions in construction and urban infrastructure. There are no specific projects, amounts, or deadlines in the reports — this is a framework agreement for now.

The context is simple: Uzbekistan is consistently attracting foreign capital into mining and metallurgy, and large investors usually come not with a single plant but with a chain of contractors. A roadmap sets direction but does not replace tender procedures. When real projects appear, procurement will go through the usual channels: construction and installation work, equipment, logistics, services. That is when suppliers and contractors can step in.

What this means for suppliers

Companies in sectors adjacent to mining and metallurgy will benefit: supply of equipment and machinery, energy, construction, transport and logistics, IT solutions for infrastructure. A large investor brings high standards for quality and deadlines, so companies with proven experience and a complete document package have a better chance. For small businesses, subcontracting and service contracts are more realistic — catering, cleaning, security, equipment repair, consumables.

You should prepare in advance. The roadmap is a signal that procurement will come, but it is not a guarantee of specific lots or a promise of dates. Watch customer announcements and don't wait until projects reach tender: by then you should already have accreditations, an electronic digital signature, and a portfolio. According to TenderLabs data as of October 24, 2026, there are 1,676 open lots in the Construction sector, 476 in Equipment and Machinery, and 760 in Energy. This is a general market snapshot, not lots for a specific Eldridge project, but it shows where competition is and where to look for adjacent orders right now.

What to do now

  1. 1Check that your electronic digital signature is valid and allows participation in procurements at the required level. Without it, you simply cannot submit a bid.
  2. 2Assemble an up-to-date package: founding documents, licenses and certificates, proof of experience, financial statements. Update it quarterly.
  3. 3Identify 2–3 niches where you are truly competitive and monitor announcements for them, not the whole market.
  4. 4Prepare a short commercial proposal for mining and metallurgy: what you supply, timelines, payment terms, references.
  5. 5Build contacts with existing contractors on large industrial sites — subcontracting often comes earlier than an official tender.

The roadmap is the start of negotiations, not the finish. Practical work will begin when specific technical specifications appear, and by that time it's better to be ready. TenderLabs can help you track relevant lots and stay ahead.
