Uzbekistan is looking at exporting electricity to South Asia and Afghanistan. According to Spot.uz, the plan calls for building 5,000 km of transmission lines and raising cumulative storage capacity to 4.5 GW by 2030.

What it means for suppliers

Work on this scale usually brings procurement with it: transformers, cables, towers, metering equipment, storage systems. Suppliers of that equipment can compete, and so can contractors for installation and construction.

Start preparing now. Check that your digital signature (ERI) is valid, get company documents and licences in order, and collect proof of experience on similar projects. Buyers on large lots often ask for a bid security, so work out whether you can cover the zakalat without straining other commitments.

TenderLabs data shows 638 open lots in the energy sector as of 18 October 2026. That points to steady activity in the sector, but lots tied to these specific plans will appear later — keep watching the announcements.
